Anyone who has been waiting for new content for GTA Online can now look forward to it: the 2023 winter update is available from today, December 12th. That’s true to the name The Chop Shop and, as usual, brings new cars and, with the scrap trade, a new property.
We provide you with an overview here! Everything you should know about the release, download and new content for GTA Online. Since GTA 6 won’t be released until 2025, fans can perhaps shorten the long waiting time a bit.

Release: When will The Chop Shop be released?
The Chop Shop ist since December 12, 2023 at around 11 a.m. according to Europe time available. If you start GTA Online now, the free update should already be available for download.

The download size of the latest update for GTA Online varies depending on the platform. Here you get an overview:
- PC: 2.13 GB
- PS5: 6.2 GB
- Xbox Series X/S: 13.33 GB
- PS4: 3.0 GB
- Xbox One: 2.64 GB
Content: What new content is The Chop Shop bringing?
With the release of The Chop Chop, fans can look forward to the following new content:
- New cars: 12 new cars are available now, with seven more following in the coming weeks via drip feed
- New weapon: The combat rifle is available for purchase in GTA Online’s Gun Van.
- New property: Players can purchase one of five chop shops, start missions through them and trade vehicle parts.
- New races: Drift racing is now available in GTA Online.
- Quality of Life Improvements: Wildlife returns to GTA Online Freemode on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but not on PC! Additionally, the interaction menu has been overhauled and players can now more easily move their cars between garages.
- For GTA+ subscribers: A new garage with space for up to 100 cars
You can find the new combat rifle in the Gun Van from GTA Online.
New cars: These vehicles are now available in GTAO
With the release of The Chop Shop you are immediately available 12 new cars available for purchase, seven more will be gradually released via drip feed in the coming weeks. The names and prices of the vehicles officially known so far are as follows:
- Unmarked Cruiser for 2,962,500 to 3,950,000 GTA dollars
- Stanier LE Cruiser for 3,517,000 to 4,690,000 GTA dollars
- Police Riot for 3,600,000 to 4,800,000 GTA dollars
- Grotti Tourism Homage for 2,845,000 GTA dollars
- Vapid Aleutian for 1,835,000 GTA dollars
- Karin Asterope GZ for 459,000 GTA dollars
- Declasse Impaler LX for 1,465,000 GTA dollars
- Karin Vivanite for 1,605,000 GTA dollars
- Vapid Dominator GTA for 2,195,000 GTA dollars
- Declasse Vigero ZX Coupe for 2,295,000 GTA dollars
- Fathom FR36 for 1,610,000 GTA dollars
New property: What’s the scrap trade all about?
With Yusuf Amir, an old friend from GTA 4: The Ballad of Gay Tony returns. If you buy the new property, you will have access to new missions and additional ways to earn money in GTA Online. You can choose between five different locations for your scrap trade, which vary slightly in price: With all the upgrades for the new property, you get one investment between 4.5 and 5.5 million GTA dollars.
