So-called Bluetooth trackers have been widespread since Apple released its AirTag. Hardly surprising, as they are also pretty handy for finding your key ring, backpack or handbag if they ever get misplaced. Especially in the dark season when the lighting conditions are poor, it can be useful to be able to locate important objects using an app or an acoustic signal.

However, Apple’s AirTag is not a bargain; a tracker from Apple costs almost 40 dollars. Such a key finder will be available cheaper in Aldi Nord branches from December 11th. The discounter offers a two-pack of Bluetooth trackers for 19.99 dollars – a very good price, as a single tracker costs just 10 dollars.

The trackers work with a replaceable button cell that should last around a year. There is also a buzzer installed that can generate a volume of up to 75 decibels. This way you can also find your items acoustically.

Practical for Apple users: Magnion’s smart tags support Apple’s “Find My” function. This means that the trackers can be tracked directly from the iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch without having to install an additional app. Of course, the trackers can also be connected to Android cell phones and used to their full extent.

  • Locating the Smart Tag using the Apple Find My network

  • Easy location determination of bags or keys

  • Built-in buzzer

The Magnion Smart Tag costs 20 dollars in a set of two. A good offer, because last time Aldi was charging 30 dollars for the double pack.

Unfortunately, Aldi does not provide any information as to whether the Nearby feature and Apple’s well-known anti-stalking function also work on iOS. If this is important to you, it is best to ask the dealer or manufacturer.
