This is what Kotaku readers expect from a “PS5 Pro”

Time will tell whether these “PS5 Pro” rumors have some truth behind them. But until then, discussing a hypothetical PS5 upgrade is a good opportunity to flesh out what we would even expect from such a machine.

That’s why we turned to you, dear readers, to find out what would make you shell out another few hundred dollars to upgrade to Sony’s current console.

As suspected, the desire to upgrade to the PS5 is not universal. Many of you said there is no need for it, no matter what bells and whistles it may offer. Meanwhile, others made it clear that if such a thing existed, it would have to provide very clear performance standards. Other requests moved into the “Probably Never Happens” category, particularly those involving backwards compatibility for games older than the PS4.
