Netlix caused quite a stir and celebrated success with the live-action implementation of One Piece this year. That’s why the streaming giant is now continuing to build on the franchise and has announced a new anime adaptation.
The popular manga One Piece is being made available again on Netflix after the streaming giant released the first season of the live-action adaptation this year. This proved to be successful and successful, which is why a second season is on the way. In addition, another anime adaptation is now coming to Netflix.
Based on the manga series by Eiichiro Oda, Netflix now wants to produce the new anime together with Studio Wit. This is the studio that is also behind “Spy x Family” and the first three seasons of “Attack on Titan”. The anime remake of the successful franchise was confirmed via an announcement video.
The new series on Netflix already has a name: “The One Piece”. The new implementation will continue to follow the same story as the actual manga, starting with the East Blue saga. Other partners in the implementation are Shueisha, Fuji Television Network and Toei Animation Co. The latter is the studio that is also responsible for the currently running version of the One Piece anime.
While at first glance it seems a bit strange that a new anime series would be started while the old one is still running, in the end it makes a bit of sense: the live-action series has new One Piece fans for many taken care of – and thanks to the new anime implementation, they can now be at the forefront, using the latest technology. The original series from Toei probably had a much more limited budget and relied on older animation techniques.
Wit, one of the most well-known and respected anime studios, is also involved, so we can expect a high-quality implementation of the one-piece material right from the start.
