A group of hackers who allegedly breached Insomniac Games have now made public a large amount of sensitive data they stole, and are threatening to do so unless a hefty ransom is paid.

The leaked data totaled 1.67 terabytes, including about 1.3 million files, which were uploaded to the group’s dark web leak site, Net Daily reported. It looks like the files contain details on many aspects of Marvel’s Wolverine as well as a roadmap for future Insomniac releases.

Data related to the former has been unceremoniously dumped on the internet, appearing to include early footage, design images, and the outline of the game’s potential release window. Marvel and Sony have also reportedly signed a publishing deal related to several planned X-Men games, with Wolverine being the first of them.

These also apparently come with expected budget details for the upcoming title, some documents related to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 , and a bunch of human resources documents containing information about the studio’s employees.

The group responsible for the hack, called Rhysida, threatened last week to release the data unless 50 Bitcoins (approximately $2 million in real currency) were paid.

To support this claim, the group released a number of documents proving the hack, reportedly including one related to Spider-Man voice actor Yuri Lowenthal.

Following the threat, Sony said in a statement to Eurogamer that it was aware of reports of a cybersecurity attack on Insomniac Games, adding that it was “investigating the situation” and did not believe any other The Sony division was affected.

As of this writing, neither Sony nor Insomniac have commented on the newly released documents, but this article will be updated as soon as possible if/when either company makes a statement.

The gaming industry has been hit by a number of these cyberattacks in recent years, the most obvious example being the leak of a large number of files related to GTA 6 last year.
