Adult Swim has given a short and sweet tease of its upcoming Rick and Morty animated series, offering a new release window.

With a title as referential as Rick and Morty, and one that’s animated in its own right, you probably wouldn’t be too surprised that it’s getting a spin-off. This isn’t actually the first time an adult animated series has been adapted into anime, as between 2020 and 2020, five shorts were released starring Japanese voice actors, including Yohei Tadano as Rick and Keisuke Chiba as Morty . The actors will return to full-length animation as the titular duo sometime in 2024, with Adult Swim confirming the new, wide release window in the show’s latest trailer.

You can check out the trailer above, which doesn’t actually feature Morty, but it does feature Rex’s entire multiverse loadout and a unique summer. The trailer doesn’t reveal much, other than the fact that Rick will once again have to face versions of himself, at least in this scene, but it does give you a taste of what you can expect. show. Beyond that, not much is known about the show, other than that it will air on Warner Bros. Discovery Channel’s streaming service Max (which also means there’s no word yet on a UK release date).

Rick and Morty just concluded its seventh season over the weekend, but ahead of the finale, showrunner Scott Marder said the show has plans to continue through a tenth season. “I can’t reveal too much. What I can tell you is that we are writing season nine,” Mader told Comicbook.com. “I can tell you that we’ve got some ideas for Season 10 and they’re already solidified. There’s a complete plan for a full Season 10 saga. So if people agree with what we’ve been doing, We’re planning to give them more of that over the past few seasons. But there will definitely be arcs and cool stuff and big surprises waiting for us.”

Let’s just hope they can address the issues beyond the infamous recast.
