Larian Studios today released a new holiday video featuring two familiar faces on a very special adventure in Baldur’s Gate 3.
CEO Swen Vincke welcomes actors Elijah Wood and Sean Astin, known for their roles as Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, as they delve into the Forgotten Realms and explore Faerûn for the first time.
After Elijah Wood finds a cursed artifact, he feels the urge to follow a darker path – to the detriment of his companions.
“As someone who lacks experience with RPGs, playing and exploring Baldur’s Gate 3 with Sean brought back memories of shared adventures that transported me right into the world,” says Elijah Wood. “What a brilliant, rich and beautifully detailed game!”

Larian Studios picked up six awards for the acclaimed role-playing game at The Game Awards last month, including Game of the Year, Best RPG, Best Multiplayer, Best Performance (Neil Newbon), Best Community Support” and “Player’s Voice”.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Mac.
