First-person psychological horror video games are having one of their best times. After the release of games like Amnesia and Outlast, the genre went from strength to strength and managed to carve out a place in the industry as one of the most requested genres by the community.. Now, a new game is presented to us with a trailer that is as intriguing as it is exciting..
This is Death Revives, a game developed by Nyctophile Studioswhose premise is that of confront Xipe Totec, an Aztec god who doesn’t seem happy with our visit. The video game is a first-person survival horror game that is very similar to recent Resident Evil titles, being able to fight with limited weapons and resources against an unknown entity much more powerful than us.
Psychological horror, good graphics and an original proposal
It’s not that common to see Aztec culture in video games, much less as a supernatural enemy. Death Revives surprises with its premise and the passion it seems to have behind it. The development studio has Unreal Engine 5 and is aiming for a solid game, but not a graphical marvel. Additionally, it looks like the game will be about solving puzzles, escaping the enemy, and suffering a lot.
For now, We don’t have an official release date for Death Revives. What we do know is that the game is planned for the first quarter of 2024 and on the new generation platforms Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
