the week’s releases with the end of a very big series

Big, releases, series, weeks

What’s new on Disney+ from December 25th to 31st, 2023? The big-eared company is still going strong with a popular series, but the end is getting closer and closer.

After Netflix and Prime Video, let’s take a look at the Disney+ releases in week 52. Before Christmas, the SVOD service released the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians and What If…? two great gifts with Season 2. These were the most notable additions with the final episodes of Soundtrack #2 and the sequel to the animated series Undead Unluck. In the next few days we’ll take almost the same ones and start over, as the new features revolve around programs already available. Here you will find all films, series and documentaries on the platform from December 25th to 31st, 2023.

Disney+ films from December 25th to 31st, 2023: nothing new (S52)

Anyone who expected new films on Disney+ from December 25th to 31st, 2023 will be disappointed. In fact, like last week, there are no more feature films to watch. This is the disadvantage that more than 90% of new products were released on the first day of December. But if you find yourself behind or want to quickly check your selection again, we’ll refresh your memory.

Marvel’s Spider-Man, Spider-Man, had a sensational appearance with no less than six films, knowing that No Way Home was already on the platform. In the middle of the month, the MCU also offered Thor Love and Thunder to subscribers. Comedies Paddington 1 & 2, which mixes live action and CGI for Star Bear, have also been added to the December 2023 Disney+ releases. This means that the list of films has been complete for a few days and there will be no last minute surprises unfortunately.

The Disney+ series of week 52 with Marvel (S52)

For the Disney+ series, however, things get moving in week 52 with the third episode of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. And for now, the company’s risky gamble appears to be paying off as reviews are positive. Even if the special effects sometimes leave a lot to be desired, many people value a clear progression compared to the films for a very satisfactory result. “For the first time, the shine of this series of simple but solid books shines through on the screen. Readers no longer need to pray to the gods because the show has already given them everything they could have hoped for.” (via Collider).

Season 2 of What If…? is also going very well, as the twists and turns of the multiverse seem to have captivated the public and the press. The first five episodes are currently available and feature Nebula, Peter Quill (Star Lord), Captain Carter, Black Widow and Tony Stark, among others. And as expected, the final four are arriving daily until December 30th. If you picked up the original story of the Undead Unluck series, you know that it continues with the release of Episode 3 scheduled for this Wednesday, December 27th.

(Not) new documentaries and programs (S52)

For Disney+ additions in the Documentaries & Shows category, there will be BTS Monuments Beyond The Star Parts 3 and 4. The report was filmed to mark the 10th anniversary of one of the most famous K-pop groups in the world. In the first episode, fans were able to follow the birth of the boy band with their debut, while the second episode tried to show the dark side of success. Despite the success, the training inevitably had some low points, which this exclusive documentary chronicles. Episodes 3 and 4 were intended to focus on how musicians experienced the COVID-19 pandemic and how certain members released solo albums.
