Did you buy an Asus Rog Ally or received it as a Christmas present? Then you’ve probably already set up your handheld and spent a few hours playing your favorite games. If you want to get even more out of the Asus console, you should invest in suitable accessories. For just a few dollars there are practical things such as protective film that you can use to protect the display from scratches.

Also practical is a bag with which the Rog Ally can be safely transported. But there are many more products that you can buy for your loyal companion. Below we will give you some recommendations that can improve your everyday gaming experience. However, we’ll start with the ultimate: the protective film.

Protective film

There are various protective film options for the Rog Ally. As with smartphones, we would definitely recommend tempered glass films. In contrast to thin protective films, they are significantly more robust and less susceptible to scratches. They are also much easier to apply. Look for the reference “tempered glass film” in the product name or description.

Carrying bag/case

Almost as important as the protective film is a carrying bag or a case for the console if you want to take it with you. On the one hand, there is an original case from Asus, but on the other hand, there are also cheap alternative offers from third-party providers.

Lange’s USB cable

Even if the battery life of the Rog Ally can be extended, the handheld runs out of steam relatively quickly at maximum performance. However, the included power supply does not have a particularly long cable. It is therefore recommended to simply buy a two to three meter long USB-C cable so that you can charge the console at the same time while playing.

SSD-Upgrade

The SSD on the Rog Ally is very easy to replace. However, Asus uses very short m.2 SSDs, which are also quite expensive – and they are available with a maximum of 2 terabytes. USB-Hub

The Rog Ally only has a USB-C input. USB hubs can help here. You can use them to expand the handheld to include various other interfaces. Practical for connecting a USB stick, keyboard or mouse, for example.

Compact keyboard and mouse

Pure touch operation can sometimes be annoying under Windows 11, and touch operation is not an advantage for all games. Compact keyboards and mice that you can use with the console are particularly practical here – especially when you’re on the go. At home you can of course use regular keyboards and mice.

Gaming-Headset

Of course, you also need headphones or a gaming headset when you’re on the go. Compact in-ear products that don’t take up a lot of space in your bag are particularly recommended. Of course, you can also use “normal” Bluetooth headphones, but appropriate models provide a more gaming feeling.

Since the Rog Ally is a Windows computer in mini format, you can use all the accessories that you also use on a full-sized gaming PC. Audio interfaces with active speakers, printers or stream decks – no problem.
