essential, Games, hit, January, PlayStation, real, Top

While Microsoft has changed its business model as part of the rebranding to Xbox Game Pass Core, Sony continues to offer free full versions for subscribers in the basic level of PlayStation Plus month after month. Things will continue like this in the new year 2024 – and a blockbuster awaits you in January.

Shortly after the New Year, namely from January 2nd, 2024, the new offers from PlayStation Plus Essential will be available for download and will then replace the line-up from December 2023, which will still be available until then. If you would like to secure individual or all titles here, you should have snapped them up by then.

Otherwise, Sony isn’t going too far at the start of the new year, because with A Plague Tale: Requiem you can download a really excellent top hit at no additional cost as part of your subscription and play it on the PlayStation 5. The successful title was only published in October 2022.

The game is the sequel to the award-winning A Plague Tale: Innocence, in which Amicia and Hugo travel south to new regions and vibrant cities after escaping their devastated homeland. There they want to get Hugo’s curse under control and start a new life. However, when Hugo’s powers reawaken, death and destruction return in the form of all-devouring hordes of rats. Forced to flee again, the siblings place their hope on a prophesied island that could hold the key to saving Hugo. In a desperate fight for survival, you will experience what it costs to save the life of your loved ones and face opponents and challenges with a variety of weapons, tools and supernatural powers. You can read what we thought of the title when it was released in our A Plague Tale: Requiem review.

While this next-gen headliner is only available for PS5, the other two titles in the January triumvirate are available for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. This is initially about Evil West, which focuses on a dark threat looming over the Wild West. As one of the remaining agents of a secret vampire-hunting organization, you are the last line of defense between humanity and the deep-rooted terror that lurks in the shadows. With your firearms, your electric fist and various gadgets you unleash hell on earth. You can take on the bloodthirsty monstrosities both solo and in co-op; a narrative campaign guides you through the game.

The line-up will be rounded off in January by Nobody Saves the World, an action role-playing game from the makers of Guacamelee. Here you’ll have to master the art of transformation to become a snail, a ghost, a dragon and more as you complete quests to discover more than 15 different forms to switch between. Each form brings its own challenges that must be solved creatively, for example by combining skills.

As a goodie, there is an exclusive PS Plus package for subscribers Warframe: Syrinx Collectionwhich includes the following weapons, armor and items for the free-to-play sci-fi multiplayer action game:

  • Syrinx Brustplatte
  • Syrinx shoulder plates
  • Syrinx Beinplatten

  • Storm color palette
  • Essential Mod Bundle Base Damage
