Kylo Ren is one of the most famous faces of the sequel trilogy, which was created under the aegis of Disney. And although events in Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker would require at least a solid explanation as to why Adam Driver would appear again in one form or another, some fans speculated whether he might wield the lightsaber in future projects.
Driver has now as part of the Smartless podcast expressed about a possible future of his involvement as Kylo Ren.
The end of a journey
There are no detailed, but clear statements from the 40-year-old actor from the United States. When asked whether, like his colleague Daisy Ridley as Rey, he sees a future for the character he embodies, he says:
They’re doing something, but not to me. I won’t do anything anymore.
For him, the character of the Sith Lord Kylo Ren is simply told and so there would be no reason to slip into the role again.
Anyone who knows Star Wars 9 will know that due to its ending, there could theoretically be an escape from this definitive-sounding statement. However, the way he rules it out doesn’t seem like it. And no matter what happens, according to Driver, it will definitely happen without him.
