Google Pixel software It offers a very clean, intuitive and above all smooth Android experience. Additionally, unlike what happened with the Nexus (Google’s mobile phone family before the Pixel), they add additional features such as the “At a Glance” widget.
This, which already gives us useful and contextualized information, has been updated with physical activity monitoring and even tells us when to go to bed. There is a version for the rest of Android phones that recently failed, and now unify your settings on a single screen.
At a glance, it continues to improve and now allows you to disable it
Widgets have had a second life since the renewal of Android 12, making our lives easier. This update to Google’s operating system brought them back to the main stage, adapting to the design lines of Material You.
But the widget in question is not part of this group but rather the Google Pixel launcher. In reality, although it is commonly called a widget, it is a small section that gives us contextualized information on the elements of our environment: alarms, meetings, calendar events, seismic alerts… and it even tells us when we should go to bed.
It is a mobile feature from Google, which barely takes up space, but is interesting. The downside is that it could not be deactivated. Because yes, we are speaking in the past tense because the latest update allows a switch to leave this space free on the home screen.
Additionally, the settings have been unified, which we access by holding down and tapping “Customize”. Until now, the configuration of this section seemed incomplete: on one side we had the settings we mentioned, the rest was in the ‘Google’ application. Yet, consistency has been compromised but this has ended with the change taking place.
As we read on 9to5Google, the Pixels get the unified configuration of ‘In one look‘ (the original name of this feature), bringing together the settings we mentioned and which were previously separated on the same page. Apparently some users started seeing it last October, but it’s now rolling out widely.
We will therefore find everything activation switches of the different sections of “At a glance” in a single list. How do we access it? With the usual method: long press on the launcher > Personalize. Upon access we will see the new switch that allows you to deactivate this function, previously located in the Pixel Launcher settings.
The unified list now counts all these features which can be disabled individually:
- Time
- Shared trips
- Air quality
- To travel
- Alerts
- Aptitude
- seismic alert
- Security controle
- Soon
- Timer and stopwatch
- Job profile
- Connected devices
- Food and home orders
- Multi-device stopwatch
- Parcel delivery
- Stamp
- Shift
- Flash light
- Release time
Regardless, ‘At a Glance’ continues to improve at a slow but steady pace, becoming an almost indispensable tool for a server. We stay up to date with all the news about the Google Pixel and its exclusive software, to bring you the most significant changes with which Android continues to constantly evolve.
