It has been revealed that Monster Hunter World, the ambitious open-world entry in Capcom’s legendary action series, has sold more than 23 million copies.

This is part of a special New Year’s message released by the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto wishes the world well in this video as we all get used to 2024. The video, while brief, is packed with interesting tidbits about the past and future of the series.

In addition to Monster Hunter World’s impressive sales numbers, the same video revealed that Monster Hunter Rise has sold 13 million copies, while Monster Hunter Now has surpassed the 10 million unit shipment milestone . All in all, it’s a pretty big spread for one of Capcom’s top series.

In this video, we also get some additional gameplay peaks from Monster Hunter Wilds, the next major entry in the series currently in development. The game’s release date is set for 2025, although Tsujimoto is confident that the game’s next update is scheduled for this summer, so keep an eye out if you want to keep an eye out for the next big release.

2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the “Monster Hunter” series, and the team held a voting event to allow fans to choose their favorite monster from the series’ history.
