LG Display presents OLED innovations at CES 2024. New OLED gaming panels will also be shown.
LG Display, the world’s leading innovator of display technologies, will unveil its latest OLED products at CES 2024.
The company will have two booths at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC): a main booth in the North Hall and an automotive display booth in the West Hall. Under the motto “A Better Future”, LG Display presents its latest OLED technology for large formats and pioneering display solutions for the automotive industry. The latter are specifically optimized for Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs).
The main stand will focus on various OLED technology for large formats. They offer new dimensions of picture quality and improved performance for televisions, Gaming monitors and transparent OLEDs.
LG Display’s latest OLED TV panel once again raises the bar for OLED picture quality.
With the innovative META technology, the company reaches an important milestone after a decade of OLED innovation. It combines the Micro Lens Array (MLA), which maximizes the light emission of organic materials, with a brightness enhancement algorithm.
The result is the highest brightness of any OLED TV panel currently available.
LG Display also presents a wide range of OLED gaming panels from 20 to 40 inches. Including the powerful 27-inch QHD OLED gaming panel, which is the first in the world for an OLED display to have an ultra-high refresh rate of 480Hz offers.
This enables an optimal gaming experience with a smooth and sharp display, even with quick image changes.
The 34 and 39 inch panels offer an extra wide aspect ratio (21:9) for an immersive gaming experience. The 31.5-inch panel delivers UHD resolution (3840×2160), making it ideal for gaming, office work, as well as watching TV and streaming.
LG Display’s OLED gaming panels contain millions of self-illuminating pixels without additional backlighting and offer high refresh rates and resolutions as well as a fast response time of 0.03 ms.
Additionally, the company has integrated META technology into its OLED gaming displays to further improve overall image quality and minimize external light reflections in dark scenes.
LG Display will also introduce its full range of transparent OLEDs. These range from 30 to 77 inches and enable retailers to offer their customers new shopping experiences.
As the world’s only manufacturer of transparent OLEDs, LG Display uses the self-illuminating nature of OLEDs to achieve high transparency.
The displays are also suitable for indoor use due to their lower heat generation compared to conventional LEDs. Their versatility allows them to be installed in almost all rooms and interiors such as windows, walls and floors of various sizes.
LG Display will be showcasing its ultra-large pillar-to-pillar (P2P) display solution at its booth in the West Hall. It is optimized for Software Defined Vehicles (SDV) and uses various display technologies from the company such as P-OLED, ATO (Advanced Thin OLED) and LTPS (Low-Temperature Polysilicon) LCD.
LG Display’s very large P2P P-OLED display solution seamlessly integrates a 12.3-inch P-OLED display for the instrument panel and a 34-inch P-OLED display in the center. This elegant design covers the entire dashboard. The 48-inch P2P LTPS LCD provides a large screen that allows the driver and passenger to view useful driving information while enjoying entertainment features.
With the advent of large displays like P2P, LG Display also introduces its Switchable Privacy Mode (SPM). This allows the driver to concentrate on the road by controlling the viewing angle of the passenger display.
LG Display will also introduce solutions that maximize space efficiency in a vehicle and offer new in-car experiences. These include the 17-inch Foldable OLED for RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment) and the 18-inch Slidable OLED, which is hidden in the ceiling and can be extended downwards for use.
Additionally, LG Display presents its “Thin Actuator Sound Solution”. This weighs only 30 percent of a conventional car speaker and is only 10 percent as thick. It can be installed in various locations in the vehicle to provide an immersive 3D sound experience.
LG Display will also introduce cutting-edge technologies that improve vehicle interiors. This includes an “Under Display” that hides cameras in the display by adjusting the overall transparency. “Decorative Film” allows a display to resemble interior materials such as wood or carbon when inactive.
With the introduction of these display solutions, LG Display offers new experiences to its customers worldwide. The aim is to further strengthen the company’s competitiveness and to attract new customers with differentiated products and technologies, according to the press release.
