After a long development period, Granblue Fantasy: Relink It’s finally releasing next month, and in preparation for its release, its developers have released its anime adaptation for free.

Granblue Fantasy is going through a period right now. Just last month we saw the arrival of Granblue Fantasy Versus Rise, a fighting game that our own Connor gave a full five stars. Now, in early February, the world finally gets its hands on Granblue Fantasy: Relink, a game that was first released back in 2016. Of course, if you haven’t played the original Granblue Fantasy mobile game, you’re going to love this one. Probably not much is known about this. Luckily, developer Cygames has released the first seven episodes of the Granblue Fantasy anime adaptation for free on YouTube.

The animation tells the story of the protagonist Gran (the ordinary-looking brown-haired boy) who meets a mysterious blue-haired girl named Lilia. What follows is the usual RPG of having to fend off an evil empire, save the world, go on adventures, that sort of thing. It’s a quicker way to experience the mobile game’s story, although it obviously won’t be as fulfilling, so don’t expect a flawless story experience. But hey, it’s free anime, what can you complain about?

Granblue Fantasy Reunion also tells the story of Gran and his companions, taking place in “the Sky Kingdom, a world where countless islands float in a vast blue world,” as detailed in the game’s story description on Steam As described. “You’ll play as the captain of an aerial crew, sailing with a scrappy dragon named Vyrn and a young girl with mysterious powers named Lyria. You’ll sail with a colorful crew Sail together, including kings and misfits, to the fabled Estalucia. The island at the end of the sky.”

“Granblue Fantasy Relink” was originally co-developed by PlatinumGames, and later mainly by Cygames itself. The game will be released on February 1 and will be available on PS4, PS5 and PC.
