Some of the modders behind the massive Fallout London project will consider moving into full-fledged game development after the mod’s release in April.
If you’re unfamiliar, Fallout: London is a massive Fallout 4 modding project that lets you leave the Commonwealth and explore the ruins of the British capital. It’s been in development for a few years, and the team behind it has provided plenty of sneak peeks at the interesting factions and locations it will feature.

In a recent interview with Dualshockers, which also discussed how the mod differs from the base version of Fallout 4, Fallout: London project lead Dean ‘Prilladog’ Carter and lead 2D artist Emily ‘Saffron-rice’ Kemp provides some insight into what the future holds for the team once the mod is released in April. Unfortunately, there are reportedly no plans to make any expansion packs for Fallout: London once it launches.
Instead, Carter revealed that his future goals for the Team FOLON entity are to emulate the efforts of other modders who have transitioned to full game development. He said that Team FOLON, in addition to being the name of the Fallout: London team, is now a registered trademark company and will ideally follow a similar path to that taken by the developers of the Skyrim mod Forgotten Cities. The latter later became a full-fledged game.
That said, even if the FOLON team knew it had an idea worth taking this step, it might have to do so without any useful additional funding, which Forgotten City developer Modern Storyteller was able to source from Australia The government receives this funding.
In the meantime, some of its members will also immediately turn their attention to helping develop other large-scale retrofit projects, e.g. Fallout: Shelter 13a mod that attempts to remake the original Fallout in a version of Fallout 4’s Creation Engine.
In recent years, it has been a trend for modders to transition into formal careers in game development, and it became one of the main talking points at the end of the year when Bethesda announced plans for a new revamped version of Skyrim. last year.
