sony shows early footage from the upcoming release gravity dash Film at the CES press conference, but don’t get your hopes up.
Back in 2022, there were reports that PlayStation Productions would be developing a Gravity Chronicles movie, which was a bit surprising considering the popularity of the franchise. It’s unclear if the film is still in production, but as you can see in the clip below, it turns out it is. What now looks like early test footage shows a woman who looks nothing like protagonist Kate jumping off a floating building to face the monster. All of the footage is CGI, and you can even see a brief moment of the actor diving in a motion-capture suit, but Sony didn’t even mention that during the press conference, so who knows if it’s live action or not? no.
Assuming nothing changes, Anna Mastro, best known for creating music videos for artists like Leona Lewis and The Pussycat Dolls, has now joined director, Amy Emily Jerome will serve as screenwriter. That’s pretty much all we know about the film for now, but the CES press conference did give an (even briefer) update on God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn: They’re both currently being written. I know, not many updates, but what can you do?
Oddly, in the same video above, there is a clip related to Patapon? Remember Patapong? Yes, of course you do, this is a very cute and charming PSP game that combines rhythm and strategy! A very short clip was shown showing some sort of CG animation based on the game, alongside the text “IP Development, Games/Animation”. So, I guess they are onto something with Patapon! All 17 Patapon fans can look forward to this.
In an almost post-Marvel world, video game adaptations are the order of the day, with big shows like Fallout and Arcana Season 2 set to hit theaters later this year.
