Without a doubt, portable consoles have gained strength since Valve announced in 2022 the already famous Steam Deck, which with truly considerable specifications, such as around 16 GB of RAM, a 4-core AMD Zen 2 processor and a base with 64 GB of space, expandable up to 512 GB, they made this a laptop worth considering, what followed was just pure anticipation to see how other brands could emulate what Valve has made with.
Today, after the announcement at CES 2024 held in Las Vegas, many of the most important brands in the sector are announcing their new technologies, one of them is MSI, which previously indicated that it would put a new laptop on the market. So that was it, Today they announced their MSI Claw, which they say is prepared for the most demanding games on the marketTherefore, MSI wants to stand up to Valve in 2024, will it succeed?
MSI Claw design, estimated price and specifications
Without a doubt, MSI wants to make a strong presence in the market, with a more than striking design, it wants to attract the attention of the public and if we start with its design, something similar to what Asus has done with its ROG Ally, I have to say that although they obviously changed some things, e.g. Its sticks have LED lights that can change color as we wish. They also have a Hall style in their design so that we do not have that drift so annoying in some cases, the choice to keep the console ventilated also caught the eye with a design that apparently will keep our laptop quite cool .

Concerning its raw power, the MSI Claw includes the new Intel Core Ultra processor in 2 variants, the 5 135H and the 7 155H, considerably exceeding the power brought by the Valve console or even the Asus console, a storage space of up to to 1 TB of PCIe Storage generation 4.0. An incredible 7-inch IPS OLED screen with a resolution of 1080p and a refresh rate of around 120 Hz, the operating system chosen by MSI was Windows 11 in its Home version.
We will see what happens on the battery side, which although it is 53 Wh, the TDP of these low consumption processors will make that in addition to contributing with its incredible raw performance on the console, it will also do the same in terms of battery life itself, its duration is therefore estimated at around 2 to 3 hours in the best case.
Finally, one of the most important points will be the price they choose for the MSI Claw and its variants, since apparently, Its base model with the Intel Core Ultra 5 135H would cost around $699 and around $799 for the most powerful version with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H. If these prices are confirmed, it will dispel the doubt about what was suspected, fully competing with Valve’s latest model in its OLED version, launched at $649.
