The Last of Us (HBO): Abby actress in season 2 has been officially confirmed

Abby, actress, confirmed, HBO, officially, Season

It was already rumored at the end of last year, but now it’s officially confirmed: We’ll tell you who will play Abby in season 2 of the HBO series!

As early as mid-November 2023, there was plenty of speculation that the actress playing Abby would star in Season 2 of the HBO hit series “The Last of Us”. Now this role has been officially filled.

So it’s actually happening as the rumor mill reported back then: Kaitlyn Dever, known from “Unbelievable” and “Booksmart”, will play the important role of the experienced soldier Abby in Season 2 of the post-apocalyptic TV series based on the successful game brand Play Naughty Dog. Her black and white view of the world is challenged as she seeks revenge for those she loved.

Executive producers and directors Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann commented on the casting of Abby: “Our casting process for the second season is identical to that of the first: we are looking for world-class actors who embody the souls of the characters the source material. Nothing is more important than talent, and we are thrilled to have an acclaimed performer like Kaitlyn join Pedro, Bella and the rest of our family.”

The second season will also be shown in Germany on the pay TV channel Sky and on the streaming service WOW; The first season is still available there. As in the video game, the story follows the story of 14-year-old girl Ellie and her companion Joel, who set out from a quarantine zone in the post-apocalyptic USA on a big journey across the United States.

The cast includes, above all, the ever-popular and currently immensely successful Pedro Pascal (“Game of Thrones”) as Joel and the young British actress Bella Ramsey (“Game of Thrones”, “His Dark Materials”) as Ellie. Other roles can be seen: Gabriel Luna (“True Detective”) as Tommy, Anna Torv (“Mindhunter”) as Tess and the British actress Nico Parker (“The Third Day”) as Sarah, Murray Bartlett (“The White Lotus “) as Frank, Nick Offerman (“The Resort”) as Bill, Storm Reid (“Euphoria”) as Riley and Merle Dandridge (“The Flight Attendant”) as Marlene.

The second season will focus on the first part of The Last of Us: Part II, while the first season covered the entire first game.
