According to a certain person, Sony is preparing a new State of Play. As you will have understood, this means that there may be a number of announcements ahead.
Just yesterday Xbox officially announced its new Developer_Direct. It’s scheduled for January 18th and there are some great announcements to come. The company is therefore starting 2024 with a bang. But what will happen to PlayStation for its PS5 (and maybe even the PS4)? Apparently Sony is preparing a state of play, which should be available shortly.
A State of Play with big announcements for the PS5 in February 2024?
On paper, this information is actually not surprising. For good reason, the manufacturer will definitely carry out a State of Play at least once a year. The question now is when. For Jeff Grubb, a more or less reliable insider, the famous presentation will take place in a few weeks. He also explains that this even applies to the next Nintendo Direct. It has already happened that the two events are less than a week apart.
Can we really trust our husband’s words regarding this matter? Well, we don’t really know how to position ourselves on this. He tends to obtain information about all possible and imaginable licenses, be it for the PS5 or the Xbox Series, without presenting any concrete evidence on the balance sheet. In short, there is no perfect score and therefore it is best to take what is said with a grain of salt. However, we must not forget one important element that would support Grubb’s rumor.
In fact, Sony created a State of Play with announcements for the PS4 and PS5 in February 2023. So he could well choose to reproduce the same pattern. In any case, the Japanese giant has made a habit of informing at the beginning of the year what it intends to do in the near future. So we’ll avoid moving forward too quickly for now, but it goes without saying that this would be a great opportunity to make big reveals. In addition, it would allow him to get back on his feet and follow the direct of his competitor Xbox.
What announcements for Xbox?
In fact, given what has been announced for Xbox Developer_Direct, a State of Play would be appropriate. On the menu are Avowed, the new production from Obsidian Entertainment, Ara History Untold, Senua’s Saga Hellblade 2, but above all the game Indiana Jones from Machine Games. The latter is expected soon as we haven’t seen any in-game images yet. We hope this will be the case on January 18th.
