Elden Ring is receiving a new update that is rather small, but of great importance. Some players will be happy to learn that they can play peacefully again.
The 2022 GOTY left his title to Baldur’s Gate 3 this year, but that doesn’t stop him from still being at the top of his game. Elden Ring will soon receive its first expansion, theShadow of the World Tree. A big DLC that shouldn’t take too long to come out, but in the meantime it’s the main game that’s constantly being updated.
A new PC patch for Elden Ring that could save your life
It has to be said that the game is a monumental success. Tens of millions of units sold across all platforms, regular monitoring, thousands of players every month… the community is very active, especially online. And if things are going well on the console, not everything is rosy on the PC. Elden Ring, like many Dark Souls, is the hunting ground of countless fraudsters. Cheaters who are not afraid to destroy and bring the game to a halt by any means possible just to achieve their goal, often with the aim of ruining the gaming experience of other players. For what ? Good question, but the fact remains that some unscrupulous players have made it their national sport.
FromSoftware has already reacted several times and closed the vulnerabilities as much as possible. In particular, the studio fixed several bugs that allowed players to exploit certain vulnerabilities in the structure. Today FromSoftware has rolled out a very small patch on PC, but it should significantly improve the experience for Steam OS users on PC. Not long ago, Steam OS was updated, leaving behind the Easy Anti-Cheat software used by Elden Ring. So the door is open to fraudsters. This new patch therefore finally fixes the situation after a few days. This should, in theory, allow players addicted to the online mode to enjoy their game in a more relaxed manner, although – we’re not going to lie – the smart guys who like to cheat will always find a bug or two at some point. Anyway, in the meantime, here’s a small patch that should still be game-changing for users.
On the other hand, there will be nothing left to do for this new update. Furthermore, the console versions are absolutely not affected. Elden Ring will of course receive new updates later and we are all eagerly awaiting the upcoming release of the major DLC.
