44% of consumers opted for higher storage options
Apple has taken the high-end smartphone market by storm and more and more iPhone Pros are being sold. Sales volume fluctuates from quarter to quarter, but the latest market trends are very favorable for the Cupertino company. Furthermore, it has now been discovered that a large number of consumers are opting for iPhone versions with greater storage capacity.
A new report from CIRP indicates that many iPhone users are starting to upgrade their phones with higher storage options. In other words, if they have a 128 GB iPhone 12, they prefer to buy a 256 GB iPhone 13.
The CIRP study
During the quarter linked to September 2023, analysis from CIRP (Consumer Intelligence Research Partners) indicates that 44% of iPhone buyers chose to upgrade to a version with more storage capacity from an iPhone model with basic storage capacity.
Therefore, these consumers chose to purchase a more expensive iPhone. This new trend comes after high popularity of basic storage models with 64GB and 128GB options, which were priced considerably cheaper.
The CIRP analysis chart clearly reflects how Consumers are changing their purchasing habits in order to improve your user experience.
Although there are many ways to increase iPhone storage through operating system features and cloud storage services, a large number of consumers have preferred to purchase iPhone models that have greater storage capacity to meet their technological needs.
Interestingly, Apple increased the storage capacity of its iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max at the end of 2023, going from a base model of 128 GB to a base model of 256 GB.
The latest analyst estimates indicate that sales figures could decline throughout the first quarter of 2024. However, the trend of consumers choosing options with more storage could balance Apple’s revenue balance.
