The shooter Battlefield 2042 is actually going into a seventh season – and it has now been announced that you can look forward to two maps instead of just one.
It had already been announced that Battlefield 2042 was unlikely to even have a Season 7. The shooter got off to a very bad start, but DICE constantly made improvements and the title finally rose to new heights in terms of player numbers years after its release. A seventh season is therefore somewhat logical – and now DICE has revealed further information about this.
So, on the occasion of Season 7, you can look forward to not just one, but two new maps this time. Traditionally, DICE limited itself to one new map per season, but this time there are more! What is certain in this context is that one of the two new maps will be located in Chile; further details are still pending.
Incidentally, the update to version 6.3 will be available on January 30th, which brings quality-of-life improvements. Here you can expect a Portal Squad Spectator modifier and improved map rotation. Update 6.4 will follow on February 20th with a server update, aircraft improvements and a Vehicle Gunner Direction HUD. According to the newly published schedule, Season 7 itself will start in March. Until then, players of the shooter will not have received any new content for several months.
Separate from the continued new content for Battlefield 2042, DICE has already been working on the latest part of the Battlefield franchise. According to information from Insider Gaming This game has already left the concept phase and pre-production behind.
