Gaming News Leave the scammers behind! Elden Ring begins 2024 with an update highly anticipated by some players
Although the game has been out for some time, Elden Ring continues to turn heads thanks to a brand new update. The latter focuses on hunting down cheaters and should satisfy many honest players.
An anti-cheat update for Elden Ring
It’s hard to forget Elden Ring, as it has shaped the video gaming landscape since its release in February 2022. Despite being popular in their own niche, the FromSoftware studio’s games have never had such success before, with the game eventually winning the 2022 Game of the Year title against some giants like God of War Ragnarok. While the Japanese studio has since released a new, very different game called Armored Core VI (which also won an award at the 2023 Game Awards), Elden Ring has kept a low profile since announcing its DLC. Still, The game will continue to be updated in 2024.
A few hours ago, players were able to download version 1.10.1 of Elden Ring. Behind this number lies an improvement that is eagerly awaited by the community: Updated the game’s anti-cheat system. If you’re just playing alone, you’ve definitely never had a problem with cheaters throughout your entire game. But for those who enjoy competing against other players, this is a problem just waiting to be fixed. Note that this anti-cheat system improvement is primarily aimed at Steam users, who were also the most affected by the issue. If you want to continue playing Elden Ring online, you must first upgrade to version 1.10.1.
New content coming soon?
Unfortunately for players who were hoping for new content for Elden Ring, Update 1.10.1 won’t be the one to satisfy them. Even if the time for fans of the game is slowly getting longer, it should be remembered that the developers are currently working on it A DLC called Shadow of the Earthtree. Designed as a true expansion, this additional content was announced almost a year ago without ever revealing any news.
Some of the most impatient players are still hoping for a DLC release in February 2024 to mark the game’s second anniversary. While it’s entirely plausible that such an event could occur, it’s best not to get your hopes up too high either. In fact, there is no doubt that FromSoftware would not miss a little promotion before the release of the DLC and nothing has been done at the moment. At least we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll find out more as quickly as possibleand who knows, for a return to Entre-Terre in 2024.
