Nintendo will continue to regularly release classics from earlier days via Switch Online in the new year of 2024. In January, subscribers will have two titles from the Game Boy Advance era.
Anyone who has booked the more expensive level of Nintendo Switch Online, the so-called Expansion Pack, will receive two new classics in January via the online service of the current Japanese console. These come from the Game Boy Advance era and will be available in the new week from January 17, 2024.
The new GBA classics are the role-playing games Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age – two fan favorites from the beginning of the millennium. Previously, there were three new N64 classics on Switch Online in December.
With Golden Sun, the series started on the Game Boy Advance and the game immediately turned out to be a hit for JRPG fans in 2001. Golden Sun: The Lost Age is a direct sequel to this JRPG classic. Both games will be available for Switch Online for the first time on a later platform.
The franchise itself has not received a sequel since Golden Sun: Dark Dawn in 2010 on the Nintendo DS. There was speculation about a comeback in 2018, because the trademark was renewed in Japan at that time. In the end, no new title came out.
