Some fans are done with the departure of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher series on Netflix. Liam Hemsworth is no stranger to taking on the role, but the anticipation among some viewers hasn’t noticeably increased.
But the Thor actor’s little brother won’t be the only star in season 4: Lawrence Fishburne will join The Witcher as Regis.
Who is Regis?
Book and game fans of The Witcher will probably sit up and take notice at the name, as the character has already made one or two appearances there. While he plays a fairly prominent role in the books, his first and only digital appearance is in The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine DLC. In the first part he is only mentioned by name.
Regis is a world-famous healer and bather (i.e. a doctor without a doctorate who can also carry out small surgical procedures) who befriends Geralt. In the next paragraph we’ll reveal a little more about his character – if you’re not into the series spoilers If you don’t want to, you’d better skip this part.
Regis is a vampire over four hundred years old – but that doesn’t damage the friendship between him and the sorcerer when the bloodsucker makes it clear that he doesn’t suck blood anymore. Regis not only has a lot on his mind, but is also an extremely dangerous fighter.
Fishburne is looking forward to to explore the wondrous world of The Witcher
like him Netflix opposite told. The actor is best known for his role as Morpheus in the Matrix films, but has also made a name for himself in other major productions over time. Whether in the John Wick films, Mission Impossible 3, the Hannibal series or the superhero flicks Batman v Superman and Antman and the Wasp.
Mixed reactions
In the comments below the announcement X (formerly Twitter) opinions are divided. While some are looking forward to Fishburne’s performance, others remain unsatisfied due to Henry Cavill’s departure.
For Theill Then there is the clear difference between the external appearances. Not how I imagined Regis while reading the books. But I’m sure Laurence can do a good job.
The games also have a completely different look, as you can see in the picture at the top.
The fourth season of The Witcher has not yet been released, due to the major strike in Hollywood last year, this could drag on for a while. It may not happen until 2025, but the exact details are not known.
Has this made the fourth season of Witcher more interesting for you or are you not giving the series a chance without Henry Cavill? Is Lawrence Fishburne the perfect choice for you or would you have had a more suitable actor in mind? Feel free to write it in the comments!
