As the January 19 pre-order date approaches, we’re learning more about the Apple Vision Pro space computing headset. While Apple has announced that it will have an M2 system on a chip, we now know one more detail about said chip.
According to Bloomberg Marc Gurman, the M2 of the Vision Pro will have 8 CPU cores (4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores) and 10 GPU cores. The Vision Pro has a starting price of $3,499, which includes 256GB of storage. In a follow-up post on X, Gurman says he hasn’t heard of storage options beyond 256 GB, but he “does not exclude anything for the moment”. Reports indicate that Vision Pro SDKs came with 1TB of storage, but Apple only offers Vision Pro “starts” at $3,499.
Gurman also reports that buyers will have the option to pay via monthly Apple Card installments. Considering the high price, it seems to be a popular option with customers.
In his To light up In the newsletter distributed on Sunday, Gurman detailed the Vision Pro sales demo in Apple Stores, a session that includes a step-by-step tweak and walkthrough of Vision Pro and visionOS features. These sessions will begin on February 2 in the United States, when the Vision Pro debuts in Apple Stores. Learn more in our Apple Vision Pro superguide.
