“We did a lot of polls with users and fans, and whenever we did a poll about what people wanted to see as a remake for the Persona series, the number one answer was always Persona 3“,” P3R Producer Ryota Niitsuma told me. “After Persona 5 Royal came out, the Persona team was ready for another project and we were trying to think about what to do. We said, “Hey, a remake could be pretty good.” Everyone wants to see it Persona 3‘So this is the right time.’ The stars have aligned.”
The team respected the impact the original had on players and wanted to preserve the essence of it Persona 3while bridging the 15+ year gap since its release and all the technological advances during that period.
“When [the original Persona 3] When the game first came out, both then and now, I thought it was simply incredible, something whose colors have not faded even after many years,” shared game director Takuya Yamaguchi.
“I wanted to leave behind all the parts that came from it Persona 3 What it was, all the parts that were at the core of how beautiful it was as it is, but then try to address the things that have changed in the meantime… I wanted users to think when they play this game. “I’m playing, not a remake of something old, but I’m playing something that’s the newest installment in the Persona series.”
