We have left 2023 behind, but old habits never die. We are just over half a month into 2024 and we have already announced both layoffs in companies related to video games and delays in launches. A few hours ago it was STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl and now it’s the turn of the first major Starfield update of this year.
Earlier this week, Bethesda announced that today (January 17) the biggest update for Starfield to date in its Steam Beta version and that its official launch would take place two weeks later. Now we know this will not be the caseat least as far as today is concerned.
We’ve discovered an issue that we want to fix before releasing our update to Steam Beta. We’re aiming to launch later this week, but we’ll confirm the timing when we know for sure. Thanks for your patience!
Bethesda has not mentioned that this delay will affect the final version of the update, so it should arrive in February… as they shared in late December 2023. As for what we can expect from the update, this is a good summary. Official notes will be published with the release of the Steam Beta version.
- More than 100 fixes and improvements.
- Mission Fixes: “Eye of the Storm” issues, such as not being able to dock with Legacy or data transfer not starting, and temples not appearing in “Heading into the Unknown”, will no longer impede exploration of Constellation “.
- Improvements in both stability/performance and In the graphic section, “from additional widescreen support to improved textures, lighting and shadows.”
- Others: “improvements to planet and star display, fixes for missing items in outposts, ship hatches marked inaccessible, and more.”
