Hello, Dom here, studio manager at Ninja Theory. As I write this, we are now in the final months of development Senua’s Saga: Hellblade IIWe’re gearing up for day one of our release on Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Series Direct.

Since the publication of Hellblade: Senua’s victim, Ninja Theory has evolved from an independent team to one based within Xbox Game Studios. Although this has changed for Ninja Theory, particularly in light of the support now available to us in realizing our ambitions, our passion and commitment to our studio mission – to create life-changing art using groundbreaking technology – has not changed.

This may sound like a tall order, but we are proud that we have already achieved it Hellblade: Senua’s victim – a game developed in a space we called “Independent AAA,” where we worked with the creative spirit and freedom of independent development but strived for the kinds of high-end production values often only available with AAA -Games are connected. We also took advantage of the freedom that digital-only distribution afforded us to create a game whose length perfectly suited our intended experience, but could be sold at a lower price to reflect the shorter length of our story. This framework allowed us to focus on the things that really matter to us – and take our fans on an unforgettable journey into the unique world of Senua.

In Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, our approach is the same. Although we are no longer an independent studio, our creative spirit has been strengthened by joining Xbox Game Studios, and in this new chapter in Senua’s life we have been able to increase our production values far beyond what we were able to achieve before. So my message to the players is: If you like it Hellblade: Senua’s victimor if you enjoy narrative-led experiences of cinematic immersion, we build Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II to you.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will be a game that comes from the heart – a game similar in length to the first Hellblade, with a focused narrative, and available digitally only for $49.99. And you can once again look forward to joining Senua in understanding her world through perception puzzles guided by her experiences with psychosis, in brutal and soulful combat and traversal gameplay, this time through the harsh but beautiful landscapes of 10Th Century Iceland. Crucially, all of these elements are intertwined in a unique visual and aural experience, where everything is in service of Senua’s story. So you can expect more of the same, but this time with support that pushes our ambitions for immersion, loyalty and wealth even further than before.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our fans around the world. Your good wishes and support are what drives us. In Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II We want to make it as easy as possible for all of you to enjoy Senua’s journey, so we’ve expanded the scope of our localization to 26 subtitle languages - including Arabic, Ukrainian and of course the language of the country of our journey: Icelandic!

Know that here at Ninja Theory, our partners and collaborators in music, mental health, art and technology are working hard to bring you a special experience again. We look forward to having you join us on Senua’s new journey on May 21st.
