A few hours ago Google officially launched the second version of Android 11, the kind that should come out with its stable variant by the end of the summer. We told you what's new in this version, with no major changes compared to the previous one.
Now we'll tell you how to install this version as long as you have a specific compatible phone, that is, a Pixel 2, Pixel 3, Pixel 3a or Pixel 4 or one of the XL models.
How to install the original developer interface for Android 11
To use this version we have two options. The first is, if we have Android 11, wait for an OTA that will arrive in a few hours or a few days. If we don't have a Developer Preview or if we don't want to wait, we'll have to install it manually. Here are the steps:
- Download a factory photo or OTA for your device.
- We go to mobile settings.
- We select Information from the phone.
- Click on the build number until the upgrade mode is activated.
- Let's go to the new setting that appears as Developer options.
- There, we use to boot booter.
- Restart the device in recovery mode.
- Select ADB Sideload.
- On the computer we install ADB.
- Connect the phone to the computer.
- We put the file we downloaded into a folder whose path we know.
- We fulfill the command adb sideload (OTA file path).
When the command completes execution, the cell phone will restart and sit on the lock screen, waiting for our PIN or pattern. At that point we can delete it and see if we already have the new version.
