The Cyberpunk 2077 The sequel, currently codenamed “Orion,” is a complete mystery. Other than the fact that it is in development, we know almost nothing about the project. What we do know is that developer CD Projekt Red is seriously considering adding multiplayer to the mix this time around.

Multiplayer was originally planned for the open-world first-person shooter in 2020, but due to the disastrous start of the gameThe team had to pull out all the stops to put out the many fires raging on the neon-filled streets Cyberpunk 2077The night city. As a result, every multiplayer CDPR cooked in the development oven had to be taken out and cooled so that the game itself could reach a playable state, which the developers did brilliantly. With Cyberpunk 2077 finished and the studio continues other Projects– which also includes a sequel to the 2020 game – CDPR has multiplayer on its mind again.
CDPR is “considering” multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2077
In an interview with ReutersCDPR joint CEOs Adam Badowski and Michal Nowakowski spoke briefly about the countless other games the studio currently has in development. Neither gave specific details about these projects, but both confirmed that this is the case Cyberpunk 2077 The sequel is currently “in concept phase” and is expected to have around 80 developers working on it by the end of the year. Nowakowski also said that the company is “considering adding multiplayer elements to the game.” Cyberpunk 2077 Continuing, but again he didn’t clarify that statement. He laid out one thing the team is studying: how to harness the power of AI.
“We think, that [artificial intelligence] is something that can help improve certain processes in game production, but cannot replace people,” Nowakowski said. That sounds nice, but only time will tell how AI will be used in the company’s games in the future.
My city I have reached out to CDPR for comment.

Badowski and Nowakowski’s comments on multiplayer reflect CDPR’s position in October 2022, as The company announced its intention to integrate multiplayer into its upcoming games, of which there are five in the works known to us. It’s unclear what form multiplayer will take when it appears in the Polish studio’s in-development games, but at least we know it’s real and (possibly) coming. Let’s just hope that as CD Projekt Red has already promisedThe developers don’t have to work hard to make everything possible.
