What does Nintendo think of Palworld? Former company members share their perspective

Company, members, Nintendo, Palworld, Perspective,

We already knew the first sales data and then we received the second, as well as the third. We have news about Pokémon with guns! They come to us after their debut and success, even though it has not been confirmed for Nintendo Switch for now! This data is related to the performance of Palworld, a title inspired by Pokémon.

Palworld, “the Pokémon with guns”

Specifically, it seems that, after surpassing Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy or Baldur’s Gate 3 and rising to the top of the Steam player peak, we now have statements about its comparisons with Pokémon. Those responsible have already spoken for the first time about it, and in fact we have a comparison with several Pokémon and an official statement from The Pokémon Company in this regard. But… what does Nintendo think?

Two former Nintendo employees, Kit and Krysta, now video game consultants, have shared an old video on social media in which they react to Palworld. They show their impression about the game, calling it “Pokémon-with-weapons” and highlighting monster designs. They have also discussed the issue on their YouTube channel, raising Nintendo’s apparent lack of response to the Palworld controversy. In it, they mention how Nintendo apparently “ignored” previous Palworld news. thinking it was a “joke” and it seems that, at least for a while, I wasn’t worried about the game..

The reaction of Kit and Krysta, former Nintendo Minute presenters, gives us an interesting perspective about how some former Nintendo employees perceive and react to the Palworld phenomenon. The surprise expressed by The Pokémon Company’s former chief legal officer and the apparent lack of official response from Nintendo suggest that the industry and fans are watching closely how the controversy and success of Palworld may affect perceptions of Nintendo and Pokémon in the future.
