Published on January 26, 2024, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a satisfyingly deep RPG with a great story, wonderful characters, and tons of activities to complete. With turn-based combat, an interchangeable class system, and plenty of rewarding strategizing opportunities, this is the latest game in the earlier tier Yakuza The series is as deep as it is masterful.
Here are our tips for making the most of your virtual trips to Japan and Hawaii.
Don’t be so quick to fast travel
Infinite wealth has a few open maps to travel around. While they’re not as large as your standard “open-world” game, they might still tempt you to simply fast-travel using the game’s taxis rather than hoove it to your destination. Resist this urge.
Not only is the map full of activities that you have to physically go to (e.g. lots of side quests, ways to get in touch with your party members, suji locations, and more), but also Infinite wealth Since this is a turn-based RPG, you should spend time participating in some random encounters to improve your level and job ranks.
Taxis might also seem a bit expensive at first. While 1,000 yen/US$10 per trip isn’t a lot of money, it’s better to invest in healing and enhancement items in moments when you’re strapped for cash.
Plus, it’s just nice to admire the sights of Japan and Hawaii!
Don’t forget your smartphone
I know we all wish we could stare at our phones a little less in real life. But in Infinite wealth, your smartphone is a pretty handy way to save time. Access your smartphone from the pause menu and you will find a number of options such as: B. using a taxi for quick travel (yes, I know, I just told you not to do that too often!) and checking which items are necessary for crafting and upgrading your weapons.
Don’t forget to change your job at Alo-Happy
Once you reach Chapter 5, visit Alo-Happy Tours. Not only do you unlock a photography mini-game here, but you can also unlock and swap your character’s jobs (which are essentially classes) at the Alo Happy booth. While many of the basic jobs are fairly effective for each character, it’s best to experiment with new ones to find new ways to excel in combat.
When enemies are close together, attack quickly with area effect abilities
During combat, characters move, and if they get close enough to each other, you can take advantage of this. Infinite wealthTurn-based combat gives you the ability to read what a skill does and plan your attacks. You should look for opportunities and time your attacks appropriately to inflict damage on as many enemies as possible.
It helps to remember which attacks are particularly effective and which enemy in a group should do the most damage. For example, Chitose’s Grand Jeté is good for attacking an enemy at the front of a group, as it will knock them back towards the enemies behind them. Meanwhile, Adachi’s Reckless Charge should target an enemy at the back of a group while plowing through anyone in its path to attack that enemy.
Prioritize enemies that will summon other enemies to join the fight
As you get into brawls, you’ll encounter enemies that have a particularly annoying tendency to summon other enemies. Once you start facing bigger threats, it can not only prolong an annoying battle but also put you in danger. Take out these enemies quickly or you will suffer the consequences.
Swinging a bat isn’t the only thing Ichiban is good at in a fight
I get it. Seeing Ichiban swing that bat around just looks awesome (seriously, the animation for Bat Breaker is pretty cute). But he’s also a solid healer and support character – especially when Kiryu comes along and can take on a more effective damage dealer role. Ichiban’s Hero’s Wisdom and Hero’s Sense abilities can give you a decisive advantage in boss battles by increasing your critical strike rate and defense. Meanwhile, Hero’s Heal and Hero’s Blessing, which heal and revive party members respectively, are really helpful if you run out of items.
Go shopping as often as possible
Although you’ll find various drinks and meals everywhere to heal and strengthen your party members, exploring the environment alone won’t amass you a good supply of high-quality items. Shopping in stores is essential when traveling the world, and you should visit as many as possible before heading out for a big story section that will likely end in a boss fight or two.
Don’t forget that basic attacks reward you with MP
Using skills is important to emerge victorious from a fight. However, if you don’t feel too pressured to take out enemies quickly, it may be worth spending a few turns getting some basic attacks in, especially for Ichiban and Chitose, who will serve as your healer early on.
Don’t let the fight put you on the defensive for too long
Infinite wealthCombat rewards strategic planning over multiple turns, many of which you’ll want to spend strengthening and weakening. However, you should take the opportunity to land a few good hits even in moments when you feel the need to use a character’s move to heal or trigger a status effect. While you always want to prioritize the health of your main character (Ichiban or Kiryu depending on the chapter), as their death will send you to a continuation screen regardless of who is still standing, dealing damage is pretty important – especially for eliminating additional enemies in boss fights .
Defense is always valid in combat
If you hold Circle or B on a controller during combat, you will spend that turn guarding. This reduces the damage a character takes when hit on an enemy’s turn. Of course, you want to attack, strengthen, and weaken as much as possible, but guarding is a great way to help a character stay alive as they get closer to death.
Forgot details from a previous chapter? Refresh your memory in the tasks menu
A lot happens in Infinite wealth, so you might get a little lost as the story progresses. Select “Assignments” from the pause menu and go to the “Main Story” tab (there are tabs that also summarize active and past side quests). Each completed chapter contains a paragraph summarizing what happened.

There are a lot of characters in it Infinite wealth. And since this is the eighth game in the series, there’s a lot of background information you may not have understood. Good news: Almost every character has an entry in the Character Profiles menu that introduces you to who they are, what they look like, and their general involvement in the series so far.
From the pause menu, navigate to Save/Settings and select Character Profiles. You can find each character by indicating their clan affiliation or place of origin.
