end Neo 2 The distance is close, but there are still many difficulties to face. This is the way to beat Shuta Doji In the upside down castle.
After Daiara Bocci, this is a more conventional battle, combining the elements of two Yokai enemies you encountered before: Yoki and the magical firepower guy who looks like Spectre Knight.
There aren't many other strategies besides immortality, but some of them are not immediately apparent.
Nioh 2 – How to Beat Shuten Doji
I embedded below a video that defeated Shuten Doji. I did a few things wrong-mostly trying to shoot him too much-but it shows you the overall strategy.
What you want to do is dodge his attack, rush back, cause some chips to be damaged, and retreat to a safe distance. But if you can let him smash Amrita crystals scattered on the field, they will build up on his wine gourd.
A jug filled with amrita made him too drunk and sick. Eventually, he fell and became easily grabbed.
When fighting, try to avoid hitting or shooting the crystals on the gourd in order to gain this advantage.
When you see him vomiting and wandering around, you will know that he is drunk. Avoiding his attack caused him to fall. Don't be greedy, but flinch as soon as you stab him – he will lazily throw his club off the ground.
For the rest of the battle, he relied heavily on three-step moves. The first was a three-shot combo, and his club made two long swings, followed by an overhead slam. Scroll back to avoid the swing (your swing is much longer), then tilt to the side.
Don't try to retreat from the Grand Slam, it will hit you, and the range is wide. Sometimes, if he feels fruity, he can add one or two more swings at the end, so don't think it's safe, but look away. Otherwise, sprint when he resets to cause some damage quickly.
The second major attack point was his flogging back and forth on the circumference. You can roll back below.
Finally, when he pulls the club over his shoulder, he will jump up and slam his club, before doing a spin kick.
Dodge the club sideways, avoid the club, and roll towards Shuten Doji's body to avoid kicking. This way you can set a quick counter before retreating. If you dodge the kick by rolling backwards, pay attention to sweep horizontally at the end of the combination.
If you stay nearby for too long, he will use gourd to go you, so don't be greedy.
His main Burst Counter was borrowed from Fire Magic Yokai. He took a good sip of something, and then slowly spit out a fire in front of him. Meet the flame head and reach the blasting counter.
He also owns a Burst Counter, where his gourd blurs black and white. Encountered this head also burst the counter.
In addition to these attacks, he can cry from the gourd and spit out fire pits, but their range is short.
He will open his door when switching between the real world and the monster world, so when you also seize this opportunity.
Eventually, he will hit the mat and you are free to track Tokichiro.
