Last year, there was a rumor that Asus would discontinue the Zenfone lineup, suggesting that the Zenfone 10 would be the last compact flagship. Fortunately, Asus quickly refuted the rumor, putting it to rest.
Additionally, it appears two new Zenfone 11 handsets will arrive in 2024. A standard, compact version was still in the works, but an Ultra model with a larger screen also appears to be on the way. Here’s everything we know so far.
When will the Asus Zenfone 11 be released?
There have been no announcements from Asus at the time of writing, but the Zenfone lineup is usually updated at some point during the summer. Here’s when the latest models were released:
So there’s a good chance we’ll see the Zenfone 11 in the next few months, probably around July 2024.
The delayed launch of the Zenfone 10 in the US has been attributed to network compatibility issues. Asus could this time improve its launch strategy, aiming for a universal version. But for now, nothing is certain.
How much will the Asus Zenfone 11 cost?
There is no official confirmation from Asus on the cost of the new Zenfone 11, but the prices of previous models may shed some light on this topic.
Here is the price of previous generations when they were initially launched:
- Asus Zenfone 10 – $699/£749
- Asus Zenfone 9 – $699/£699
- Asus Zenfone 8 – $629/£599
- Asus Zenfone 7 – $749/£569
As we can see, Asus has not yet established a consistent pricing strategy in recent years. Given previous price increases (at least in the UK), it’s likely they won’t go down with the Zenfone 11.
A price hike is possible, but the new Ultra version is rumored to likely be much more expensive. Given that Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra starts at $1,299.99/£1,249, be prepared for something similar.
What specifications and features will the Asus Zenfone 11 have?
Nothing concrete has been revealed yet regarding the Zenfone 11 lineup. However, significant leaks suggest that there will be not one, but two new models this year.
Here’s what we can expect from them.
Asus Zenfone 11
Google Play Console recently listed the upcoming Zenfone 11, revealing that it could sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
We also learned that the Zenfone 11 appears to have 16GB of RAM and the screen resolution remains consistent with its predecessor at 2400×1080. Additionally, the device is likely set to run Android 14 out of the box. launch.
Not much more is known, but we hope Asus decides to make bigger changes this time around. The Zenfone series has kept the same design for two years, with minor changes like the addition of a metal ring around the camera sensors. The hope is that the Zenfone 11 retains the overall size and shape while improving the back, possibly introducing a real glass back and a telephoto lens.
Heat management is a concern, especially during demanding tasks like gaming. Improvements in this aspect, even if it means a slightly larger profile, are hoped for in the Zenfone 11. The news that it will run on Qualcomm’s latest processor is therefore particularly welcome.
In terms of software support, Asus lags behind competitors like Google and Samsung. Extending the OS commitment for the Zenfone 11, similar to Samsung’s policy, would be another key feature that would make it a worthwhile purchase.
Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra
If leaks are to be believed, we can expect a second Zenfone 11 model this year.
Asus could adopt a new strategy with the Zenfone 11 Ultra, allowing it to appeal to a wider audience and take on flagship phones such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It’s expected to be a more powerful and larger version of the Zenfone 11, with a design that closely resembles Asus’ ROG 8 Pro.
A recent leak, discovered by Reddit user Td3v1l while reviewing the latest ROG 8 firmware update, gives our first look at the Zenfone 11 Ultra through a set of renders. This seems to confirm that the Zenfone 11 Ultra will share most of its key specifications with the ROG Phone 8/8 Pro, but with a few changes.

The battery is listed at 5,500mAh and could support 65W wired charging as well as 15W wireless charging. It is also likely to run Android 14 upon launch.
The Zenfone 11 Ultra appears to be available in colors known as Eternal Black, Skyline Blue, Misty Grey, Verdure Green, and Desert Sienna.
