“Avengers Endgame” may have marked a real turning point in the famous Marvel Cinematic Universe: after the events that took place there, a whole story arc was completed, which had been built up little by little for almost fifteen years. with the death of Thanos, but also those of several superheroes (except Captain America who has decided to retire).

“What if…?” is an animated series integrated into the MCU that now has two seasons under its belt, the last of which appeared in December 2023. Their concept is based entirely on the multiverse and allows us to discover parallel worlds in which certain events did not take place as we saw them: for example, We can see Thanos turning into a zombie, or a universe where Thanos doesn’t go looking for the Infinity Stones.
So a priori: “What if…?” would be the only legitimate way to bring Thanos back into the MCU, even if Josh Brolin admits that it’s not the same “type of Thanos”.
