Ubisoft has released a new financial report and also taken a look into the future – and it brought positive news regarding Assassin’s Creed: Red and Star Wars: Outlaws.

We recently reported that there are increasing signs that the sci-fi hopeful Star Wars: Outlaws from Ubisoft will almost certainly appear in 2024, possibly even in the first half of the year. Ubisoft has now published new business figures and commented on the Star Wars title and Assassin’s Creed: Red in the associated report.

The report now also makes specific reference to the “upcoming release of Star Wars: Outlaws in 2024” – the release window in the current calendar year is now officially fixed, after a Disney blog entry in January had already suggested this. It remains to be seen whether it will actually work in the first half of 2024, as Ubisoft actually left that open.

However, interest in the next major part of the Assassin’s Creed game series is perhaps even greater, especially since Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red – the official, internal working title so far – will also include the setting in feudal Japan desired by many fans. Fortunately, the supposed action blockbuster will also appear in the upcoming fiscal year 2025, according to the financial report.

This fiscal year begins on April 1, 2024 and then runs until March 31, 2025, so we now have a pretty concrete idea of when we can expect Assassin’s Creed: Red. The probability of a release in line with the busy Christmas season in autumn or towards the end of 2024 is likely to be high – if nothing comes up in further development.

There could be more clarity as early as May 2024, because then Ubisoft wants to comment in more detail on the planned titles for the new financial year – according to the current financial report. The release time windows should then be further specified.

In the run-up to the current financial report, a report from the best-informed insiders from Insider Gaming Ubisoft’s further plans have already been largely disclosed. In 2025 and 2026 there will be a new Ghost Recon (Project Over) set in the fictional Naiman War, two new Far Cry games – a multiplayer title (Project Maverick) and a new main part (Project Blackbird), two more Assassin’s Creed games (Project Hexe and Project Invictus) as well as the already announced remake of Splinter Cell will appear. In addition, several other Assassin’s Creed titles are in the works, including a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, known internally as Project Obsidian.
