The terrible Deadpool comes to the rescue of the dense cinematic universe of Marvel Studios in more ways than one, and it does not do so capriciously, nor does it arrive alone: the third installment of the saga of the mercenary with a mouth already has an official name, first trailer and, despite being fully aware that he now works for Disney, those in charge have made it clear that in Deadpool & Wolverine There will be lots of blood, gunshots and cuts on the screen.
Taking advantage of its golden minute during the Super Bowl, Marvel Studios has unleashed the first trailer for the film that will once again bring together on the big screen Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) y Hugh Jackman (Wolverine, Wolverine or Dynamic Needle, depending on your preference). And although we have only been able to see the silhouette of the second, it is left implicit in the final bars that the long-awaited collision of antiheroes is totally inevitable.
Announced in September 2022, and with filming interrupted by the actors and scriptwriters’ strike, the film formerly known as Deadpool 3 It follows in the wake of the first two and recovers its protagonists and its hooligan and cheeky tone. But, in the process, it achieves something that Marvel cinematic fans have been asking for for years: begin to connect the dots with everything presented since Avengers Endgame and the debut of the series Loki.
What’s more, what is shown largely corresponds to the first official images and not so filtered by Reynolds himself and you can even see small details in the background such as what appear to be the rubble of the iconic 20th Century FOX logo, which has produced the previous films of Deadpool and the X-Men.
How did that get there? In the trailer the fourth wall is already broken, the brief official synopsis already states that “Will that fucking irresponsible hero, Deadpool, change the history of the MCU with Wolverine?” and it is clear that if there is a film in which ignoring logic is more of a responsibility than a license, it is this one. In any case, the countdown to find out what happened officially begins.
Under the slogans of “Everyone wants a happy ending” in the trailer and “The best friends come back together” through the official poster, Marvel Studios remembers that the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine will be next July 26, 2024 in movie theaters.
And although the film still does not have an official age rating, based on what has already been shown and the previous two films, we expect that it will not be aimed primarily at children. That, added to its powerful first look, are already two steps in the right direction.
