When it’s time to go out, there is one question that haunts our minds. What weather is it today? And in a few hours? To answer, there is no better alternative than applications to know the weather on Android. They come in pairs, but you won’t find two alike.
You will probably use the one provided by default on your mobile, or the Google section which does not require downloading or installation. However, it’s worth taking a look at the Play Store to find other options focused on different sections. Don’t forget the weather It’s a new application that seeks to be different from others. We have tested it and we will tell you how to download it and what its functions are.
Before leaving the house, don’t forget to check the weather in this new app
As we can read on Reddit, where the author of the application commented, the application was born from a need. During their vacation, the rains threatened all their plans. Indeed, the weather apps predicted a full week of rain, but at times the clouds provided a respite.
It was therefore decided to develop an application which, at a glance, allows you to know the weather conditions. hour by hour. This was the origin of Don’t forget the weatherdeveloped in Google’s modern development environment for Android: Flutter.
We downloaded and installed it – it weighs just a few megabytes – and we can say that met expectations although it is in development. When we open it we see a simple interface that shows the current status of the weather, adorned with an icon that illustrates it.
Just below it shows some information sheets where we can check the forecast for 24 hours of each day of the week. They are presented visually, with small squares colored according to the forecast. Plus, it follows the Material You guidelines, making it very intuitive.
We can move between cards which will detail the following data:
- Cloud and precipitation forecast
- Temperature forecast.
- Thermal sensation.
- Average wind speed.
- Wind gusts.
- Total precipitation
- Total snow
If we are looking for more details, just tap on the visible card to go to the next screen. In it we will see the sections of these cards extended route: The numbers are displayed here, next to each time slot.
Playing at a specific time, we still have more information: percentage of clouds, probability of rain, as well as wind-related data. This application allows us to maintain several locations at the same time, in order to quickly switch from one to another.
Additionally, in your settings you have the option to change units of measurement: clock type (12 or 24 hours), temperature unit, wind speed and accumulated rain.
It’s completely free (with a premium version to have more than one location), and although its author is already planning the future of the application – there are still features to be added – it is currently quite complete. We leave the link to the Google Play Store below.
