Over the last few years, we have seen how different anime studios have positioned themselves at the top thanks to various adaptations. However, there is one that has always remained at the top for decades and is still relevant: Studio Bones.

Now, on the occasion of its 25th anniversary, Crunchyroll wanted to pay tribute to the height in the form of a documentary. Bones 25: Dreaming Forward will explore from the inside the history of one of the most respected studios in the entire anime industry and how it has grown exponentially since its inception.

One Russell Crowe scene in Gladiator was enough for Ridley Scott to know that they were creating a historical film

Several of the world’s top directors and mangakas will sit in front of the camera to talk about the studio. Among them are One, creator of One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100; Shinchiro Watanabe, director of Cowboy Bebop and Space Dandy; and Kafka Asagiri, creator of Bungou Stray Dogs. They will share their experience with the studio and the working method used to adapt their works to the small screen.

The documentary will consist of 4 parts of 24 minutes each and will arrive on Crunchyroll today, February 13, 2024. This celebration also coincides with the launch of the new original anime by Studio Bones, Metallic Rougeof which we can now enjoy its first episode on the on-demand streaming platform owned by Sony.
