On January 31, during the PlayStation State of Play game presentation, we saw a new trailer for the long-awaited ‘remake’ of the classic horror title focused on the game’s combat that was not received with absolute love. Players criticized what appears to be a generic system that tries to copy what hundreds of games have done by copying the style of Resident Evil 4. Bloober Team, the studio that is developing this new version of Silent Hill 2
Thanks to Eurogamer Polonia We learned that Piotr Babieno – president of the Bloober Team studio – criticized the trailer in an interview with the inwestyc.tv channel. This video has been set to private since the news went viral and can no longer be seen.
In the interview, Babieno expresses the following:
«We are not responsible for advertising. Our partner Konami is completely in charge of that. The trailer certainly does not reflect the spirit of the game. We try to reflect our romantic vision of the game that debuted 22 years ago. “We believe that when players see the real game they will evaluate it differently.”
In case you haven’t seen the combat trailer for Silent Hill 2 The one these reviews refer to—which currently has a considerable number of comments and downvotes—can be found below.
This is not the first time that Bloober Team criticizes the way in which Konami is handling the promotion of its ‘remake’ of Silent Hill 2
This ‘remake’ will be released exclusively for PS5, although it is possible that it will reach other platforms months later.
