Palworld costumes are here and oh god…oh no…

All Saints' Day, costume, Costumes, Disguise, Dongguan, god...oh, Google, Halloween, my city, no, Palworld, Pokémon, Trick or treating

Pokémon with weapons (also known as Palworld) is a huge success and many children and teenagers enjoy the open-world survival crafting game. It’s likely to be a popular source of inspiration for this year’s Halloween costumes, and so, as expected, some companies are already producing unofficial merchandise that could get someone knocking on your door to buy candy later this fall.

Palworld has millions of players and is currently one of the most played games in the world. As I write this paragraph on a random Tuesday afternoon, there are over 300,000 concurrent players on Steam. Playing with cute, Pokémon-like animals called Pals is a blockbuster success, and when something gets so big so quickly, it often leads to a strange period of time where official merchandise is nowhere to be found. So of course other companies started producing and selling imitations Palworld Merch, including some really weird looking full body costumes.

As discovered by VG24/7, Palworld– like so many other successful video games – offers replica costumes for sale on various websites. On RedditHas anyone spotted these full body outfits currently for sale AliExpress for $20. These look like 80’s costumes that you buy at the drugstore because you forgot it’s Halloween tomorrow and the kids wear them reluctantly because they still want candy. Also kind of creepy. Imagine one of them knocking on your door late at night after watching a bunch of horror movies.

VG24/7 I found similar or possibly the exact same costumes on eBay, although they cost $22 here. Another website appears to be selling at least one of these costumes, particularly the yellow Grizzbolt variant. IThe price is around 38 USD. The last one says it is sold by: Dongguan Shiri Huanbao Dianzishangwu Youxian Gongsi. Googling didn’t turn up much, but it appears to be a Chinese company. (This is a good time to mention that you should google “dropshipping.” You know. Just for fun.)

For those who are curious, it doesn’t appear to be PocketPair, the studio behind it Palworld, has released all official costumes based on the game. So it’s probably all just hasty imitations. I’m not even convinced that these outfits will look exactly like the pictures they’re advertised in. Be warned before purchasing.

And for children who end up dressing up as buddies Palworld For Halloween this year, I’m sorry, but here’s how trick-or-treating will go all night for you:

Old lady: Oh, look. What a cute Pokémon.

Child: I’m a buddy…

Old lady: Oh, that’s nice, sweetie, have some caramel.
