This is what Crossplay does
Thanks to Crossplay, you can play World War Z with friends who have the title play on a different platform than yourself. The limitation that the PC and the individual consoles each have their own server is therefore lifted.
At least for now, however only for cooperative PvE mode, which also includes the Horde mode introduced at the end of last year. In competitive battles, you will still only play against players on the same platform. The team thus avoids the criticism that is often mentioned that the mouse and keyboard are superior to a controller in shooters.
Initially, only players on PC and Xbox One can play with each other. At a later point in time, PS4 users can join them. However, the developer has not yet given an appointment for this.
