The newest No man’s sky The update is called Omega, and it’s designed to bring former players back into the game. Omega is accompanied by a free weekend running from February 15th to 19th.
Omega’s first big feature is an Omega Expedition. Originally, Expeditions were a mode that ran parallel to the main game and required players to complete specific challenges during a time-limited season. Expeditions are now integrated into the main game, allowing a player to join an expedition with all of their best loot and return to the main storage with all the goodies earned.
The Omega update also brings additions to older content. There are new missions on the planet that are “specifically tailored to the location, climate and personality of alien lifeforms”, new content added to the main Atlas story, and a new pirate battleship to face and the you ultimately have to own it.
After almost eight years and over 25 updates, it’s exciting to see No man’s sky is still rolling out free patches – ones that are intended to attract new players. As someone new to the game, I find it interesting to try out some of these new ships and perhaps test out the expedition for one of these awesome new starships.
