Important days are approaching for Xiaomi and its commitment to Europe and the rest of the global market. The company has already announced surprises for the MWC in Barcelona and today confirmed that on February 25 it will celebrate the presentation of the Xiaomi 14 range, after its launch in China last October.

This delay is usual between launches in China and the global market, but this time it hurt a little more; because during this period, many of Xiaomi’s competitors, such as Samsung and OnePlus, took the opportunity to present their rivals, the Galaxy S24 and OnePlus 12 lines, respectively.

To counterattack, Xiaomi is preparing something very big: the almost simultaneous launch in China and Europe of its new high-end mobile: the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. We say “almost”, because this weekend it was confirmed that this model will be presented first in China on February 22, then globally on February 25 at MWC.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra for Europe

The announcement of the MWC presentation leaves no doubt: the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be the big star, with its Leica camera set; The company confirmed that the collaboration will continue and that the round shape of the camera array, which debuted with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, is already being used in promotional content. Additionally, the first official photos have already been released, confirming some of the most interesting design decisions.

Although the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will follow the same design lines as its predecessor, it will do so in a slightly more mature way. At the rear, the set of cameras will be a little larger and will gain in importance; but we cannot ignore the detail of rear covered with leather effect, which should give it a “premium” touch that differentiates it from its competitors. This leather effect will be seen in both black and white versions, although rumor has it that there will also be a blue version with a glass back.

On the front, it is striking that the curved screen is maintained, but with a more subtle curvature than in the previous model; something that makes sense due to the flat edges, which will be made of titanium in at least one version of the mobile. This small curvature means that the screen will not be completely flat as in the base version of the Xiaomi 14, giving it a premium feel but without occupying the edges of the device.

Of course, the cameras will be the main protagonists, with four 50 Mpx sensors for all types of situations and captures. The main sensor will be large, one inch and with an aperture of f/1.6 which will capture more light and therefore more information. It will be accompanied by a wide angle, a telephoto lens which will allow 3.2x magnifications and a 5x periscopic camera. It could record at 8K resolution and 24fps, as well as slow-motion videos at 1080p and 1,920fps.

The leaked price of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra would be 1,499 dollars, although in some European countries promotions are expected that would actually lower the price.
