Star Wars fans will love it Eat: Survivor Actor Cameron Monaghan is reprising his role as Cal Kestis in the live-action version, and now the actor shares what encouraged him to do so.
Fans of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor have long wanted to see the live-action debut of red-haired hero Kal. After all, there are a ton of live-action Star Wars projects currently in the works, covering a range of points in the franchise’s history. While there have been occasional rumors that he’ll do so, that hasn’t happened yet, but it turns out that Monaghan would reprise the role in a live-action movie, given the right conditions. According to The Direct , Monaghan said during a panel at FanExpo Vancouver 2024 that if he were to play Carl in live-action, “it would have to be the right one.”

He continued: “I mean, it had to continue the story or the character in some way. I didn’t want him to just show up and stand there. I wanted him to mean something and the character itself be significant. So, it It has to make sense. But in the right context, yes, absolutely.”
Getting Monaghan to appear in the flesh wasn’t that difficult since the character model was based on his own appearance. In addition to this, he himself has appeared in a number of live-action roles, including the American remake of Shameless, The Malcolm Shows and, perhaps most notably, Gotham.
Last year, Monaghan also seemed to confirm that there would be a third installment in the Star Wars Jedi series, and some early job listings suggested as much. It sounds like Respawn will be busy, as it’s also reportedly working on a Mandolorian game.
