A large number of users reported that the Movistar voice service was down in Europe for almost two hours. THE reporting began at 4:31 p.m. in the afternoon, although the service was already restored a few minutes ago. Movistar responded to EL ESPAÑOL – El Androide Libre with details about this occasional drop in Europe.
This service outage was reported by Downdetector where a graph was placed with the outages reported in the last 24 hours and the peak of reports in the last two hours in Europe. The problems reported by users were: no signal with 36%, mobile phone with 32% and landline internet with 31%.
Movistar assured that the stoppage of the service was due to a breakdown of calls under the 4G connection. In other words, Movistar users who use 5G did not encounter any problems throughout the afternoon. 4G voice service suffered outages cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia or Valladolid; although other Spanish regions have also reported these problems.
Downdetector’s map showed the highest number of incidents with red dots, which practically cover part of the Spanish territory. A service outage which ultimately concerned voice calls under the 4G connection.
Movistar now works normally throughout Europeafter these two hours users were unable to use calls under this mentioned connection.
