As discovered by a user on the Helldivers subreddit, a developer at Arrowhead Game Studios recently provided some updates on the progress on the mech side via the game’s Discord server. “Mecha [have] Late yesterday, a verified developer with the username Evil-Bosse wrote, adding: “There are still some additional improvements being made by people who are unable to assist with server issues.”
Of course, this has people on the Reddit subreddit very excited, especially those who played the first game or just like having something big and tanky next to them when jumping into battle. To be fair, considering the difficulty of the Suicide, Impossible, and Helldiving missions have all been buffed in the latest patch, you can’t blame some people for feeling like they need every advantage they can get, and they’re definitely not going to have an easy ride now .
Obviously, as some people in this thread have discussed, it remains to be seen how mechs fit into this delicate difficulty balancing equation. Hopefully, whether it’s something like the first game’s ammo limits and limited deployment options, or a new set of cooldowns designed to stop mechs from getting too OP, Arrow won’t take too long to iron out the issues.
